Pumps and Compressors

The autogas market is unique with its own distinct needs. With the aid of marketers, designers and installers of autogas systems, Corken has designed a pump to meet those needs.

 Model FF075 (frame mount)

Model FF075 (frame mount)

Corken autogas pumps achieve new levels of performance by delivering more capacity at high differential pressures, non-pulsating and quiet transfer, longer pump life and ease of maintenance. Versatility is a key part of the pump design and makes it a great fit for other applications such as cylinder filling, vaporizer feeding and bulk transfer.

Advantages

  • Ideal for dual hose dispensers and multiple dispensers
  • Metric fasteners
  • ANSI or DIN flanges (DLF vs. DLD)
  • Ductile iron case
  • Continuous duty capability
  • Designed for 50 and 60 Hz
  • Self-aligning, free-floating impeller
  • Single mechanical seal
  • Heavy duty bearings

Mounting Options
The DLF and DLD models are direct mounted with C-face electric motor as shown to the right. The foot mounted version above is mounted on a baseplate and can be direct driven through a coupling to a 2,880/3,600 RPM motor or through a V-belt drive.

Superior Design
The autogas pumps are designed to be extremely quiet and free of vibration and pulsation. The one moving part, the impeller, floats on the shaft without contacting adjacent surfaces, thus extending pump life. These factors contribute to trouble free service and long life exhibited by the autogas pump

Long Life and Ease of Maintenance
The autogas pump has design features and a rugged ductile iron construction for long life. The design of the pump also readily accommodates standard maintenance. The mechanical seal can be replaced in minutes.

Applications

The horizontal compressors offer the largest capacity of any of Corken’s compressor lines. This line of compressors can be used for unloading tankers or multiple railcars, wellhead gas recovery, pressure boosting, and gas blanketing.

Optionshttp://corken.com/media/images/comp_horiz_cutaway.jpg

The modular design of the horizontal compressor allows for various combinations of cylinder sizes with up to 4 stages of compression. Corken currently offers 8″ (203.2 mm), 6″ (152.4 mm), 5″ (127 mm), 4″ (101.6 mm), 3¼” (82.6 mm), and 2¾” (69.9 mm) cylinders. Most of these cylinders are available in a water-cooled version. Various other options such as variable clearance heads, corrosion resistant coating, and external crankcase oil cooler are also available.

Features

  • Modular construction
    Low vibration design
  • Heavy duty cylinder design
  • Self-lubricating piston and rider rings

Engineered Packages

Custom-engineered skid-mounted units can be supplied with control panels, wiring, ASME code liquid traps and other special accessories as required.

Selection
Due to the versatility of the various cylinder combinations, the horizontal compressors provide a full range of capacities up to 414 cfm (703.5 m3/hr) with maximum working pressures of up to 4,500 psig (310.3 bar).

Applications
These compressors were specifically designed for applications involving the transfer and recovery of Chlorine. Railcar unloading is the most typical application although these compressors are also used in the recovery residual vapors, and pressure boosting. Applications

T-style compressors can handle the same applications as a D-Style compressor. These include transfer of liquids between tanks, off-load/load out liquids, recover residual vapor, pressure boosting, etc. The T-style, however, offers the advantage of precise leakage control. The T-style compressor was designed to provide maximum leakage control when handling toxic, hazardous, and explosive gases.

Corken manufactures variations of its positive displacement, sliding vane design for various applications. Each of these offers unique features for the transfer of hazardous, non-lubricating liquefied gases and low viscosity liquids. For more information, review the various pump styles offered by Corken below.

Low Pressure CP Series Pumps: These pumps are designed for operating pressures up to 200 psi (13.8 bar) and flow rates up to 400 gpm (1,514 L/min). They are ideal for various petroleum products with low vapor pressures such as petroleum based oils and fuels. These pumps are also capable of handling numerous thin liquids such as alcohols or solvents.

High Pressure CD Series Pumps: These pumps are designed with a ductile iron construction for operating pressures up to 400 psi (27.6 bar) and flow rates up to 400 gpm (1,514 L/min). They are ideal for applications involving liquids at elevated pressures such as liquefied gases. CO2, ammonia, and various freons are examples of such liquefied gases. These sliding vane pumps were specifically designed for the transfer of such liquids.

Magnetic Drive Series Pumps: These pumps are offered in CP and CD versions which cover the range of operating pressures described above only with a seal-less design. This magnetic drive pump is ideal for pumping hazardous, toxic, foul smelling or other difficult to seal thin liquids.
