Pumps and Compressors

ACD CRYO can supply an extensive range of centrifugal pump from road tanker applications to process duties. Besides our fixed speed gearbox pumps we can also supply pumps for use with frequency inverters drive or hydraulic drive thus removing the gearbox from the pump and allowing it to run quietly with more flexibility.

We have developed Frequency Inverter drive pumps specifically to meet the demanding challenges of road tanker applications and are able to supply a pump system complete with frequency inverter, control boxes and flow meter to meet a complex mixture of standard pressure, low pressure and high pressure applications from a single unit.

Our hydraulically driven TOP 260 pump is arguably the quietest hydraulically driven pump available and is capable of meeting the high pressure (35 bar LIN) requirements for laser tank filling. With its totally enclosed oil lubricated bearing housing and cartridge type mechanical seal it is also one of the simplest pumps to maintain.

Horizontal LPG Compressors

Corken’s horizontal compressors offer the largest capacity in liquid transfer. They are used to unload LPG marine barges, which typically are not equipped with on-board transfer equipment. These compressors are also used to recovery both liquid and vapor from the containers after the liquid transfer operation is completed. The horizontal compressors provide a full range of capacities from 600 to 1,725 gpm (137.5 to 391.7 m3/hr) in liquid transfer. Horizontal Compressors

Vertical Compressor

F291 Compressor

Compressors are extremely versatile for they can be used to transfer liquids between tanks, off-load/load out liquids, recover residual vapor, and evacuate vapors for maintenance purposes. Many LPG piping systems do not provide ideal NPSH conditions for liquid pumps which causes excessive pump maintenance. Since compressors are only exposed to vapors, they are not affected by poor NPSH conditions. Many LPG pressurized tanks such as railcars and buried tanks have top unloading connections. A compressor can be the perfect solution for transferring liquids to and from such tanks.

Advantages

  • Threaded and ANSI flanges
  • Oil-free design
  • Self-lubricating PTFE1 step-cut piston rings
  • Packing adjustment screw in most models
  • Ductile iron construction
  • Positively locked piston
  • O-ring head gaskets
  • High-efficiency valves

D891 Double Acting CompressorServicability
Corken compressors are designed to minimize required maintenance and make such maintenance extremely simple. Valve replacement may be accomplished without disturbing the piping and ring replacement may be accomplished by simply removing the head.

Versatility
The same compressor installed for one application can easily be piped to be utilized for other plant applications. An example would be a railcar-unloading, in which the compressor can also be utilized to load and unload trucks.

Truck Compressor Applications
Corken’s LPG compressors have an extended crankshaft option for utilization on trucks with PTO and hydraulic drive systems. The compressor can be utilized for loading/ unloading as well as vapor recovery on trucks.

B166 (3/4″ and 1″) Automatic Dual Purpose, Bypass Valveshttp://corken.com/media/images/valve_b166.jpg

Applications
Used with all cylinder filling pumps. (Coro-Flo Models and low flow side channel pumps)

The B166B is a combination bypass and priming valve specifically designed for small cylinder filling type pumps, especially of the regenerative turbine type, such as the Coro-Flo pump series. The vapor elimination system keeps liquefied gas pumps primed to increase system reliability and decrease pump and seal wear. The B166B is a smooth operating bypass with moderate pressure buildup.

T166 (1-1/4″ and 1-1/2″) Pump Flow Control Valve

T166Applications
Used with large capacity pumps filling various sizes of tanks and bottles such as those used with delivery trucks or multi-spot cylinder-filling plants.

The T166 valve provides smooth-acting flow control. Specifically designed for bypass protection for pumps in the 30–100 GPM (6.8–22.7 m3/hr) range, such as those used on delivery trucks. In contrast to the B177, the T166 valve opens gradually as pressure builds up to modulate the flow, bypassing the excess capacity smoothly and silently back to the supply tank. A continuous internal bleed in this valve assists in eliminating vapors.

B177 (2″ and 2-1/2″) Differential Bypass ValveB177 Bypass Valve

Applications
Used in liquefied-gas bulk plant installations for the loading and unloading pumps.

The B177 is a low-pressure buildup valve specifically designed for applications requiring protection for positive displacement pumps in the 50–350 GPM (11.4–79.5 m3/hr) for smooth-acting flow control. To properly function, this valve requires a pressure sensing line for the storage tank. This valve should be applied where horsepower is limited and accuracy set points and flow points are necessary.

Higher capacities shorten fill times for transports and multiple bobtail loading

The Z4500 is a four-inch stationary pump designed for transport loading and multiple bobtail loading applications. If you have two or more bulkheads to load bobtails and transports and would like to shorten your fill times, then the Z4500 is the stationary pump for you. The Z4500 can fill two 3,000 gallon bobtails in 20 minutes or less at typical operating RPMs.

SC-Series Side Channel Pumps are typically used for cylinder filling, vaporizer feeding, pumping from underground storage and bulk filling operations.

Applications
For those LPG applications where high-differential pressure is necessary or low NPSH conditions exist, such as pumping from underground tanks, the SC-Series multistage side-channel is the pump of choice.

Flexibility
The side channel pump is offered in six different sizes, each ranging from one to eight stages. This provides for a wide range of pressures, capacities, and liquid transfer rates.

Design
The Corken SC-Series pump line utilizes an integral centrifugal and side channel design to create flow characteristics which enable the pump to handle up to 50% vapor and low NPSH conditions. The multi-stage modular side channel design which features one to eight open radial-vane impellers is capable of building differential pressures of over 200 psi (14 bar).

Side Channel Pump

Corken Coro-Vane® pumps are positive displacement pumps. They produce a maximum differential pressure of 125 psig (8.6 bar g). Corken manufactures four sizes of Coro-Vane pumps, ranging from 1gpm to 350 gpm (0.2–79.5 m3/hr). Corken offers these pumps with v-belt or direct-drive mounting options.Coro-Vane Pump

Typical applications for the Coro-Vane® pump include cylinder filling, loading and unloading of bulk trucks and transport trailers.

Long Life and Ease of Maintenance
The pump housing and rotors are constructed of ductile iron for extra strength and long life. The sliding vanes are self-adjusting which allows for longer life and higher efficiencies throughout the life of the pump. The pump design includes removable pump casing cams (liners) which when worn can be replaced in minutes. The seal and bearings can be replaced in minutes by simply removing four bolts. Some of the models are equipped with an internal relief valve.

Coro-Vane Pump with V-Belt Drive and MotorMounting Options
Corken offers the option of belt drive or gear drive with reducer. The Coro-Vane® stationary pumps are designed to run up to 950 RPM. The C51/F51 bottle filling Coro-Vane pumps are designed to run at 1800 RPM.

The Coro-Flo® pump is offered in three different model drive configurations. The C-Model configuration has the pump close coupled to a motor (shown below). The F-Model has a separate pump body and is directly driven through a coupling. And finally, the DS/DL Model pumps are mounted on a special bracket which will accept standard C-face motors.

C-Model Coro-FloDesigned specifically for LPG, the
C-Modelpump is extremely quiet and free of vibration and pulsation and provides trouble free service and long life for volatile liquids such as LPG. The one moving part, the impeller, floats on the shaft without contacting adjacent surfaces, thus extending pump life. All Coro-Flo® pumps are listed by Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc. for LP-Gas and anhydrous ammonia service.

F-Model Pump Mounted with Coupling and Motor
The F-Modelpump is the base plate mounted version. Coro-Flo® pumps are design to operate at shaft speeds between 2880—3600 rpm. The F-Model provides the flexibility of motor selection.

DS-DL-Direct Mounted Pump with Motor

The DS/DL Model pumps are designed to eliminate the need for a baseplate, coupling guard, and coupling alignment which makes the DS/DL series pumps compact and easy to install. The special bracket supports both the pump and the motor so they can be directly coupled.

Flanged Pump Model
The Coro-Flo® pumps have an option of ANSI flange connectionson all of the various sizes and model types.
