HDP (High Differential Pressure) Turbine Pump Packages Overview
Standard HDP Package For Three Phase Electrical Power
If you already have three phase electric power, then our standard HDP turbine pump package is for you. Since three phase power is sufficient for operating the larger horsepower motors required for high differential pressure applications, the standard HDP does not include the variable frequency drive (VFD). Three phase electric will provide the power needed for building 125 to 250 psi (8.6 to 17.2 bar) of differential pressure.
Optional HDP Package For Single Phase Electrical Power
If you are limited to single phase electric power and your pumping application requires high differential pressures, then the optional HDP turbine pump package is for you. With the optional HDP package you get a variable frequency drive (VFD) that allows you to convert a single phase electrical power to three phase power. Three phase electrical power is necessary to operate the larger horsepower motors required for building 125 to 250 psi (8.6 to 17.2 bar) of differential pressure.
A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Offers Many Features & Benefits…..
- Easily converts single phase a source to three phase service
- Slow start-up feature eliminates flow surges
- Variable motor speed capability maximizes pump performance
- Includes motor overload protection to minimize potential damage
- Shipped pre-programmed at 60 Hz with 4 second ramp-up speed
- Magnetic starter is not required so your installation costs are minimized
- A standard remote switch is available
Ideal HDP Applications Include….
- Aerosol filling stations
- Autogas filling stations
- Cylinder filling stations
- Propellant
- Vaporizer feed

- Available in three pump models
- Single-stage pump
- Frame or direct mount designs
- Frame mount accepts a wider range of motors (1 to 15 hp)
- A direct mount design utilizes a special bracket that accepts a standard two-pole motor with an 8.5″ rabbet diameter. The mounting bracket supports both the pump and motor so they can be coupled directly
- Frame mount drive options: Direct drive includes a baseplate, flexible coupling, and coupling guard
- Mechanically sealed with multiple sealing options
- Available with NPT or ANSI flange connections
- Approved by Underwriters’ Laboratories (UL) for LPG and agricultural ammonia service
- Pump case and cover: Ductile iron
- Impeller: Bronze, ductile iron, steel or stainless steel
- Shaft: Steel or stainless steel
- Seal seat: Cast iron, Ni-Resist, ceramic or tungsten carbide
- Seal sleeve and follower: Aluminum or stainless steel
- Seal rotor: Carbon only
- Seal metal parts: Steel only
- Seal housing: Cadmium plated steel, or stainless steel
- O-rings: Buna-N, PTFE, Neoprene®, Viton®, ethylene-propylene or Kalrez®. Registered trademarks of DuPont
- Ideal for low capacity applications that require medium to high head
- Free-floating has no metal-to-metal contact and minimizes wear between the pump casing, impeller and cover
- The balanced mechanical seal and sleeve enhance the sealing performance
- No vibration or pulsation – delivers years of quiet trouble-free service
- By simply removing the pump cover, you can easily replace the internals without disturbing the piping
- A frame mount includes two sets of heavy duty ball bearings that provide a long service life
- Pump nozzles can be rotated into four 90 degree increments
- Most models have bypass and pressure gauge connections on the outlet nozzle
- Continuous-duty service
- Agricultural ammonia
- Aerosol propellants
- Butane
- Foaming blowing agents
- Propane
- Many more light liquids
- Aerosol propellant/filling
- Autogas filling stations
- Boiler feed (up to 225°F)
- Cylinder filling stations
